NSE October Newsletter 2020-2021
Dear North Star Families,
Thank you for your kindness and patience as our staff started the year both remotely and in learning pods in the building. It was a steep learning curve for all of us! We know you recently faced a tough decision as to whether to return your child to North Star for in-person learning or to continue with remote learning online. As a learning community, we respect your decision and are here to support your child both remotely or in person.
As we move onward, we have some important dates:
Wednesday, September 23rd Last day for learning pods and current round of remote learning.
Thursday and Friday, September 24th and 25th Teacher inservice days. No school online or in-person. Families who have students working remotely may pick up their remote packet at North Star between 7:00am-5:00pm.
Monday, September 28th Remote learning starts for families who selected this option. Your child may have a different teacher. Your remote teacher will contact you with how to connect. For families who signed up for in-person learning, we will have a ½ day orientation to help students transition to in-person learning with a focus on our new safety protocols. Your child may have a different in-person teacher than they had when they were online.
Tuesday, September 29th 3rd, 4th and 5th grade orientation Breakfast and lunch provided 8am-12:30pm- no transportation.
Wednesday, September 30th K, 1, 2, and SSN orientation Breakfast and lunch provided 8am-12:30pm- no transportation.
Thursday, October 1st In-person learning starts for those returning to the building 8:05am-3pm Transportation begins for eligible families. If you aren’t sure, call Transportation at 720-972-4300 Sports Day-Students may wear shirts from their favorite team.
Friday, October 2nd In-person learning Picture Day Remote learning students will have their Picture Day in November.
Whether your child will be learning remotely or in-person, we want you to know that every student at North Star is valued and cherished. We look forward to working closely with you as we move onward.
Supplies: If you have any supplies for in-person learning, have your child bring them to school on their orientation day or October 1st.
