NSE March Newsletter 2019-2020

Greetings, North Star Families!

As always, it was a pleasure to see you at parent conferences on February 11th and 12th.  We appreciate your interest in being partners with us in your child’s education.  If you were not able to attend, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher for information about how your child is progressing.

On February 21st, we held our monthly Scholar’s Breakfast.  Students in grades K-5 were celebrated for their achievement in reading, writing, and problem-solving.  Congratulations scholars!

Students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades will begin state testing for CMAS on March 17th.  Please make sure your children are getting enough sleep and eating a healthy breakfast so they can do their best.  The calendar is attached so that you can make sure not to schedule appointments for students on the days that they are testing.

In response to requests for information about children and the Coronavirus, the district has
created responses to frequently asked questions.  Here is the link.

https://www.adams12.org/health-services/coronavirus-frequently-asked-questions#faq-How-are-schools-and-buildings-in-the-Five-Star-District-cleaned-and-disinfected?

We are also working hard with our students to practice good hygiene habits at school.  You can reinforce these practices at home by encouraging your child to follow the recommendations listed in the link above.

On a final note, we continue to need your support and feedback. We are looking for ideas and ways we can increase our parental involvement at North Star.  If you haven’t already done so, please fill out the parent survey on our website.

Sincerely,

Grace Taylor
Principal
