Dear North Star Parents,
We kicked off the 2019-2020 school year with our Back-to-School Night and an Ice Cream Social on August 12th. If you missed it, consider signing up for ClassDojo which teachers are using throughout the building to keep parents up-to-date on
school-wide and classroom events. Even more exciting, the ClassDojo app allows teachers to share photos directly with you of what your child is learning about during the school day. As you can see from the picture below that was sent on ClassDojo, Tai’Ceon Joiner, a kindergarten student, was pretty excited to go to P.E. for the first time. If you need help signing up, please call the office at 720-972-5560 to learn how.
Recently, we got some great news from the Colorado Department of Education. North Star is now rated as a Performance School for student academic achievement and growth based on standardized test results of our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders last spring. This is a major achievement for the school and we are very proud of our students and staff.
On August 22nd we celebrated our Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) Program with a Pizza party. Over 35 families attended. If you are interested in volunteering at North Star for an hour, a day, or more frequently, we are always looking for dads, moms, and grandparents to stop by for an hour, a day, or even more frequently to work with our students. Contact Geraldine Hernandez at 720-972-5576 for more information about our Watch D.O.G.S. program or to volunteer.
