NSE November Newsletter

 Greetings, North Star Families!

As many of you know, an important election is coming up on November 6th. There are two key measures on the ballot related to education:

-Ballot issue 5C is a $27 million mill levy override to provide funding in Adams 12 Five Star Schools for instructional programs, classroom resources, high quality teachers and staff.

-Amendment 73 is statewide education funding measure. If approved by the voters, it would raise $60 million for Adams 12 Five Star Schools.
If you want to participate in the election but have not received a ballot or are not sure if you are registered, click on the link below for more information:

On October 19, we celebrated 17 students at our monthly Scholar Breakfast. These students were nominated by staff members in recognition for their efforts in reading, writing or problem solving. Congratulations scholars!

Thank you to all the parents who attended parent conferences in October. If you were not able to attend but have questions about your child’s progress, please feel free to call them at 720-972-5600. Geraldine Hernandez, our Community Liaison, can support you if you need an interpreter. Congratulations to the Johnson family, who won a $100 gift card from Walmart for attending parent conferences.

In addition to parent conferences, we host monthly grade level parent nights. Fourth grades’ parent night is coming up on November 8th from 5 to 7 pm. If you have a 4th grader, be on the lookout for more information from your child’s teacher.

I hope you recognize the important role you play in the development of your child’s educational career. It is never too early to ask them what they want to do when they grow up. By frequently engaging in these conversations, you can help your child see the connection between the work they do at school and the dreams for the future.
Sincerely,

Grace Taylor
